Herpes
Foundation Teleclasses
A Teleclass is an innovative, exciting way to share knowledge. Teleclasses
are just like any other “real” classes, but they are held
over the telephone with a number of other people on the same telephone
“bridge”.
The Herpes Resource Center's Foundation Teleclasses are a perfect forum
for people requiring information and support in a confidential, anonymous
manner. These classes expand your knowledge and understanding of the
issues surrounding herpes and give you effective, hands-on tools to
help you tackle them.
We will discuss practical matters about this virus in a safe, interactive
environment, as well as address the feelings of guilt, frustration,
fear, hurt or emotional distress you may be experiencing. This combination
of support and information will give you self-confidence, empower you
to leave the stigma behind and help you live a "life beyond herpes”.
The
Herpes Foundation Classes are facilitated by Jocelyn Rose. Jocelyn is
a licensed counsellor who became specialized in herpes while mentoring
under Dr. Stephen Sacks (author of "The Truth About Herpes")
at the Viridae Clinic in Vancouver, BC. You can learn more about Jocelyn
by reading her bio
at www.jocelynrose.com.
Class
dates and times are listed on our registration
page.
The
Teleclasses cover the following topics:

the basics of herpes transmission. We'll answer the most frequently
asked questions, give you the facts and debunk several myths about
it as well!
Treatments - This class will help you examine options
regarding the herpes treatments available to help you better manage
oral and genital herpes. We will discuss a number of different approaches
to treatment, questions you may wish to ask your physician, as well
as things you may wish to consider before deciding on a course of
treatment. We'll also cover some important issues surrounding natural
health products and give you some good resources that will aid you
in being an informed consumer of health care products.
Talking
with a Partner - How to approach the issue of telling a partner
you have herpes, in a safe, empowered manner. We give you hands-on,
practical tips on how to do this comfortably.
Safer Sex - Sex is a contact sport — risk is inevitable.
This class will help you get savvy about safer sex. We'll talk about
telling a partner, the range of condoms out there and what the differences
between them are, why you should have a roll of saran wrap in your
bedroom, and more! Come learn how to make safer sex fun!
